DREUW releases emotive new single ‘Heavy’.

Since being born out of the anguish of an adolescent having left home for university halls, DREUW has been the emotional outlet of Andy Burke. 

‘Heavy’ is the first single I’ve heard from DREUW, and I was shocked to find that it had only been up and running since 2017. The lyrics, composition and production value of this single are mature and assured, a knack that some artists can work to perfect for a life-time. There is a tactile, closeness to DREUW’s vocal approach that reminds me of the sincerity of Bon Iver, crossed in synergy with a sprinkle of the sustained vocal eb and flows of Orlando Weeks.

DREUW tackles the difficulty of mental health in a relationship and its effects on those working to help a partner overcome the psychological illness. It is a perspective often overlooked when mental health is discussed and DREUW tackles it with maturity and sensitivity.  

I’m a little late to the party with this single, but I can’t wait to see where DREUW takes us next.
